Posted By Stephen Stewart || 19-Feb-2015

A Texas teen was arrested for his role in a Feb. 10 accident that resulted in the death of a man with a disabled vehicle on the side of the road. The youth involved in the auto accident is 16 years of age.

The fatal accident occurred late in the afternoon on the service road of Northwest Loop 820. When the accident occurred, the man's van had broken down and was on the shoulder of the service road. The deceased had walked to get help at some point, but, according to local police, it was unknown whether he was inside or near the van when the fatal impact occurred. The teen stopped after the accident happened.

The van's driver died from blunt-force injuries at a local hospital as a result of the accident. Responders treated the teen for minor injuries at the scene of the car wreck. The teen was charged with delinquent conduct and criminally negligent homicide, and the accident investigation revealed that speed may have been a factor as well.

A car accident that results in a fatality may have a major impact on many lives. When a fatal accident occurs, families are not only torn apart, but are also changed in ways that may not have expected. Many people never anticipate anything of that nature happening to their family and may not have resources to cover their final expenses or provide for surviving family members. Many who have lost a loved one in an accident want to receive damages to help provide for those left behind. In cases where a person dies at a hospital, there may be hospital expenses as well. Consulting an Austin personal injury lawyer is a good way to learn about possible options.
