A car accident that occurred in Texas involving a taxi cab and a passenger car resulted in the deaths of four people on April 19. According to the report, the crash took place in Pasadena near Houston though the exact location and time were not reported.

Police stated that the passenger vehicle was traveling too fast around a curve in the road, causing the driver to lose control. The passenger car crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and collided with the taxi cab. A police officer who was in the area when the crash occurred stated that the collision sounded like an explosion.

Two occupants from the passenger vehicle, along with two backseat passengers in the taxi cab, were killed in the accident. The driver of the taxi cab and a front seat passenger were taken to a nearby hospital by air with injuries that were described as critical.

Anyone who becomes involved in a car accident may suffer serious injuries that could become fatal. Many collisions are caused by reckless or negligent drivers who lose control of their vehicles while texting, talking on a cell phone or driving too fast for the road conditions.

Family members who lose a loved one in a fatal car accident caused by a negligent driver may be eligible to file a wrongful death lawsuit. In this particular case, the driver who caused the accident did not survive, meaning that the family of the driver cannot file the lawsuit against them. However, the family can seek compensation from the driver's estate for the financial damages they sustained, including funeral costs and loss of companionship.
